Across both SOMMA clinics, baseline visits took place between April 2019 to December 2021.

 

Self-reported Health

62% of participants reported that their health is excellent or very good compared to others of their age.

Physical Activity

On average, participants spend 7 hours per week doing moderate-intensity activity, such as brisk walking.

Life Space

92.7% of participants go outside of their neighborhood without assistance.

Mobility Limitations

8.5% of participants are unable to walk 2-3 blocks or climb 10 steps.

Living Situation

40% of participants live alone.

Walking Speed

The average speed walking 400 meters (about 1 lap around a track) was 2 ⅓ miles per hour.

Alcohol Intake

On average, participants report drinking 2.75 drinks per week.

On average, participants report taking 4.4 medications.
